A Retired Broadcaster, George Ankrah, has accused Management of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) of misusing workers’ contributions and giving them peanuts on their retirement.

Speaking on Uniiq FM’s Programme “Workers Link”, Mr. Ankrah questioned why the low returns on the investment made with workers’ contribution under the supervision of the Project Development Department of SSNIT.

In a reaction, the Pensions Manager at SSNIT, Joseph Poku gave reasons for disparities in pension lump sums. He said workers who have higher wages automatically receive higher returns.
