NMC Chairman meets with Management and Staff of GBC; speaks against political polarization

National Commission Chairperson, Yaw Boadu Ayeboafoh has impressed upon Management and Staff of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, GBC to endear themselves to professionalism in the discharge of their duties and maintain unity of purpose to ensure that the State Broadcaster remains in its pride of place as the medium of communication, education and information for Ghanaians.

Mr. Ayeboafo made the point while on a visit to the GBC, where he had an engagement with Management and Staff of the Corporation, providing him the opportunity to address pertinent questions of Staff relating to oversight.

The National Media Commission has a constitutional mandate of oversight of all State Media Institutions in Ghana.

Mr. Ayeboafoh reminded staff of the need to remain focused and relevant given the challenging times in today’s media market.

He spoke against the politicization and polarization, says these are not in the interest of the staff, when it comes to ”progress and serving a collective interest of staff”.

The Director General of the GBC, Professor Amin Alhassan was grateful to the National Media Commission for their support, particularly to the NMC Chairman for having spent time to tour all the regions as well as interact with staff to collect information on their concerns with the hope of alleviating their plight.
