Stephen Ayesu Ntim has won the Chairperson position of the New Patriotic Party at the just ended 2022 NPP Delegates Conference. 

He polled 4,014 votes to beat Stephen Asamoah Boateng who had 1,010 votes, Kwabena Abankwa-Yeboah, 294 votes; Prof. Ameyaw Kumfi, 101 votes; Sammy Crabbe, 32 votes; Kwesi Osei Adjei, 20 votes; and Gifty Ama Asantewaa Ayeh, 44 votes. 

In his acceptance speech, Stephen Ntim extended gratitude to God and to all the individuals who made the day possible. 

“The new national executives will work assiduously for the party to win elections 2024. I’m grateful to my supporters and the party at large for giving me a memorable 64th birthday present,” he said Sunday, July 17. 

Mr. Ntim’s first attempt to be chairman of the party was in December 2005.

“After 20 years of labouring in the wilderness before getting to this path, I’m going to cherish the chairmanship position and make sure it will be a unique position that will remain enviable,” he pledged.

Stephen Ntim is a product of the University of Ghana (1984) and the University of Minnesota, USA (1991), from where he holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in French and Linguistics and MBA in Management Information Systems respectively.  Stephen also holds a Diplome Superieur d’Etudes Francaises (1982) from the Universite Nationale de la Cote d’Ivoire, Abidjan.  He had his GCE ‘O’ Level education at Asanteman Secondary School (1977), Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region, and GCE ‘A’ Level education at Navrongo Secondary School (1979), Navrongo in the Upper East Region.  Stephen did his National Service at the Kaneshie Secondary Technical School between 1984 and 1986 as a French Tutor.
