Malam Mohammad Amin Sofo, an Islamic scholar

The Islamic scholar says crime has no colour and that anyone who commits it must be made to face the law.

Malam Mohammed Amin  Ahmad  Sofo was giving a sermon during Friday’s prayers at  Kalpohin Estate in Tamale in the Northern Region.

His sermon focused crime rate, truthfulness and faithfulness.

Malam Ahmad  Sofo said the current development where crimes are politicized to free perpetuated of crime is worrying.

He said it is wrong for people to bear false witness against others simply because they do not belong their side or political divide.

The Islamic scholar said that practice does not only embolden criminal but also denies others the right to justice.

On how to address the recent kidnapping of children, Malam Amin Sofo entreated the congregation to be mindful of strangers who live in their vicinity.

He said residents should ask questions about strangers on what they do and where they work.

“In this way we will be able to prevent crime, as well as expose those who are engaged in it. The Islamic scholar also asked Muslims to be truthful in whatever they do. Truthfulness is part of faithfulness which is part of Islamic practices”, the Islamic scholar added.
