A five member panel of the Supreme Court has dismissed an application filed by businessman  Alfred Agbesi Woyome asking for stay of execution on the auctioning of his properties with  a new payments plan.

Lawyer for Woyome, Luda Addey Lawal moved the motion saying that, they are ready to pay ten million cedis when the motion was granted.

He told the court that, they will subsequently pay four million cedis every 90 days. He said that, they will require about two and half year to complete payment.

Opposing to the motion, Deputy Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame said, the previously commitment he had made earlier had all not been fulfilled.

He argued that if the interest accrued on the sum is added to the 51.2 cedis  he obtained, he will need about four years to pay.

He said the balance of the principal sum left is 46Million cedis  and when the interest is added, he need more than 4 years to settle.

Mr. Dame said the application is too late and that they have already laid hands to some of the properties. He therefore prayed the court for the application to be dismissed.

The court presided over by Justice Baffoe Bonnie refused the application saying is unmeritorious and this was not the first time Woyome had made such commitments and refused to comply.

He said the latest request when granted would be unfair to Ghanaians and therefore refused it.
