The main suspect in the killing of Asantehene’s sub-chief, Nana Kwadwo Afoduo has reportedly been arrested.

Thirty-eight year old spiritualist, Mohammed Sadat, also known as Alhaji, was arrested in Burkina Faso by Police in Paga with support of their Burkinabe counterparts.

Reports picked from an Accra based station Joy FM said the suspect who was attempting to escape into France through Senegal, put up no resistance when he was picked on Sunday.

Also in police custody is the wife of the spiritualist, Nana Yaa Asantewaa Bonsu who is also Queenmother of Pakyi Number 1 in the Ashanti Region.

She is also assisting the Police with investigations.

The body of Nana Afuduo 47, a close relative of Asantehene who until his enstoolment was the Chief driver of the Asantehene was found in the back seat of his Toyota Land Cruiser between Ebuom and Adiembra communities on the Ejura-Nkoranza Highway on August 18, 2019.

Police say his assailants also set his vehicle on fire to cover up traces of the murder.

It took the intervention of members of a church who were returning from a prayer meeting to douse the fire in the vehicle.

Three others, including a confidant, linguist and a friend of the late chief have been assisting police investigations after being granted bail after their arrest a month ago.
