Liquid waste collectors continue to empty their tankers at Lavender Hill despite the establishment of the Accra Sewerage Systems Ghana Limited at James Town.

Though the tanker owners have been warned by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly to desist from disposing liquid waste into the sea, GBC News’ Ewurabena Paha visited the old Lavender Hill and reports that tankers numbering about 20 were seen parked at the shore of the sea waiting to empty them.

Residents who were reluctant to speak to GBC News said the tankers come to the shore every night under the cover of darkness to empty their tankers.

This was evident as the tankers parked at the shore had attracted flies and the stench surrounding them was enough for one to know they were full of human waste.

An attempt to speak with the drivers who were seated under a shed playing cards was unsuccessful as they refuse to answer any questions posed to them.

This was same at the Sewage Systems Ghana Limited, a subsidiary of Zoomlion Ghana, as a certain Madam Gifty said the company cannot speak with GBC without a formal letter, requesting to speak to the matter.
