Taxi driver who claimed involvement in ritual killings to re-appear before Court on Thursday

Court

An Accra Circuit Court has remanded Felix Ansah, a taxi driver, who allegedly confessed to killing many people for ritual purposes, including burying a pregnant woman at Ashaiman, into Police custody.

Mr. Ansah indicated on a private TV station that the burial of the pregnant woman was done allegedly for a former Member of Parliament for Ashaiman. He pleaded not guilty to the charge of publication of false news before the Court presided over by Mrs. Rosemary Baah Torsu.

The Court, therefore, ordered him to reappear on September 16, 2021. In its ruling on a bail application, the court held that it had taken note of the accused person’s statements and the gravity of the offence allegedly carried out, and that, it would be in the accused person’s own interest to be remanded. It said it will, however, reconsider the bail application at the next adjourned date.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Godfred Asiedu Bampoe, opposed the bail, saying it would be in the accused person’s own interest to be remanded as investigations are ongoing.

Chief Inspector Bampoe who held brief for ASP Sylvester Asare, said the accused person was only arrested last Friday, September 10, 2021 saying the pronouncements by the accused person violates State Security.
