General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana, Rev. Dr. Cyril Fayose, says fighting terrorism in any form is a difficult task.

He said even with technological advancement, developed countries still have challenges dealing with issues related to terrorism.

His comment follows the statement from the National Security Ministry, that churches are potential targets for terrorists.

In view of this, the Christian Council of Ghana has directed member churches to take steps to protect worshipers.

According to Rev Dr. Fayose, collective efforts by the government and the church can help halt the activities of terrorists. These include building fence walls around their premises and training Ushers who are usually the first port of call once a visitor enters the Church.

He challenged citizens to be extra vigilant to help identify such miscreants when they come across them.
