The Parliamentary Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Talensi Constituency Mr. Daniel Mahama, has presented an Akai Smart Led Television set with a DST TV decoder valued at GHS 3,661.00 to Tongo Senior High/Technical School in the Upper East Region.

The philanthropic gesture forms part of the candidate’s commitment to improving the infrastructural deficit the Community School is facing.

In his presentation, Mr. Daniel Mahama expressed his unwavering dedication to nurturing the growth of the institution and his desire to give back to society and inspire the younger generation to aspire to greater heights.

He told the students, “you need to consistently strive for excellence in your academic pursuits. Any setback encountered along the way should not be interpreted as the conclusion of your academic journey.”

The Parliamentary candidate, accompanied by party executives in the Talensi Constituency, promised to fight for the growth of the school, adding that “the television set is meant to help students and staff monitor national events anytime necessary to improve their academic pursuit.”

The headmaster of the school, Mr. Thomas Apana, said the television set and its accessories have fulfilled a critical need of the school. He commended Mr. Mahama for his continuous support of the school since 2015.

The NDC PC previously supported the school with over 180 sets of furniture and some financial assistance to support the endeavours of the working committee charged with the establishment of the school, among other initiatives.
