‘Own the Trees”- Message from Otumfuo Osei Tutu Foundation, Vodafone Ghana

As part of the Asantehene’s vision to promote a green Kumasi and in line with the Government’s Green Ghana Initiative, the Otumfuo Osei Tutu Foundation in collaboration with Vodafone Ghana has undertaken an exercise to plant economic trees in Senior High Schools and some health facilities in Kumasi in commemoration of the second phase of Green Ghana Day.

The Otumfuo Osei Tutu Foundation keeping up with its charge to plant over three thousand seedlings embarked on tree planting in collaboration with Vodafone Ghana at the Kumasi Anglican Senior High School, Asanteman SHS, Kumasi Wesley Girls SHS, Kumasi Academy and Tafo Government Hospital.

At the Kumasi Wesley Girls SHS, a team made up of Executives of Otumfuo Osei Tutu Foundation, Management of Vodafone Ghana, members of the Tafo Traditional Council and students engaged in planting coconut, orange and guava trees.

The Headmistress of Kumasi Wesley Girls SHS, Very Reverend Monica Afrifa Ntiamoah Kumasi thanked the Otumfuo Osei Tutu Foundation and Vodafone Ghana for ensuring the environmental sustainability of the region with the tree planting.

On behalf of the team, the Capacity Building and Knowledge Management Officer of Otumfuo Osei Tutu Foundation, Nana Kwabena Owusu Ababio advised the beneficiary institutions to ”own the trees”.
