The Narcotic Control Board (NACOB) has arrested two persons allegedly engaged in trafficking narcotics at the Aviance Cargo Village in Accra.
One of the suspects, Albert Addoquaye Acquaye, was arrested after operatives of NACOB intercepted a KIA truck he was driving.
Items that were confiscated after the arrest include, 45 boxes of what is suspected to be Cannabis and two lunch boxes containing Hashish Oil.
Albert upon arrest named one Ago Lartey as the owner of the consignment who was also subsequently arrested.
Some 22 persons allegedly engaged in drug trafficking were arrested in July in a joint operation by the Narcotics Control Board (NACOB), the police and their counterpart agencies in Nigeria.
A joint statement from the agencies said substantial quantities of drugs and an amount of 22 thousand dollars were seized from the suspects.
