The U.S. Embassy in Accra has announced that it will be closed on Monday, March 31, 2025, in observance of the Eid al-Fitr holiday. Due to this closure, all visa appointments originally scheduled for that day have been rescheduled.

In a post on its X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday, March 27, 2025, the embassy stated, “All Immigrant Visa appointments are rescheduled for 7:00 am on Friday, April 4, 2025.” It further noted, “All Non-immigrant Visa appointments are rescheduled for the morning of Friday, April 11, 2025. Please check your email this week for a notification with your individual appointment time.”

Eid-Ul-Fitr is a significant Islamic holiday marking the end of Ramadan, a month of fasting and prayer. The U.S. Embassy’s closure aligns with Ghana’s national observance of the celebration.

The embassy urged applicants to check their emails for further details and to stay updated through its official communication channels.
