Two persons have been killed in the Kandiga and Doba communities in the Kasena Nankana area of the Upper East region in what police say is related to a conflict between the two communities.

According to police sources, a man believed to be in his 60s was killed on his farm in Doba while the other, a young man, was chased from the Navrongo market and killed in a bush near Kandiga.

GBC’s Upper Regional Correspondent Samuel Ayammah reports that the bodies of the two have been discovered by the police at separate locations.

Meanwhile, investigations have commenced into the incident.

There is a heavy security presence in Kandiga and Doba communities in response to a land dispute that has claimed some lives and caused the destruction of properties.

A clash between the two feuding communities on July 5 resulted in the death of six people including a 100-year-old man.
