DANSYN Innovation Social Organization (DANSYN ISO), a Non-profit organisation operating as an Innovation Hub supporting young people in the Upper East Region has organised a Consultative Stakeholder Meeting (CSM) in Bolgatanga.

The meeting, under the theme ‘the Role of Digital Media in Transforming the local Economy for Job creation and Economic Development’, was organised by Dansyn ISO in collaboration with Ghana Tech Lab and supported by the MasterCard Foundation Young Africa Works, the World Bank and the Ministry of Communications Ghana.

The outcome of this stakeholder meeting will be published in the form of a policy document to be accessed by the general public.

In an interview with GBC’s Emmanuel Akayeti, the Chief Executive of DANSYN ISO, Daniel Yunnbe Nang explained that their main aim is to try and develop the entrepreneurial and digital skills of young people in the Upper East Region so that they can use those skills to search for jobs or start their own businesses and employ others to reduce the unemployment problem in the region and the country at large.

He added that DANSYN ISO first did an eco-system mapping of the Upper East by way of profiling the local ecosystem to identify challenges and solutions. He indicated that the hub has had other cohorts of entrepreneurial and digital skills development programs over the years including Mobile App Development, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Web Development among others. “This current cohort is Digital Media.”

Mr Nang stated that, this particular cohort will be a free six-month long program preceding with a six weeks training and followed by ten weeks of incubation and employability.

He called on the youth in the region to cease the opportunity to apply and benefit from the free skills development program in Digital Media.
