Obrempong Dekyi’s comments come after police linked him to the attack and declared  him wanted.

Most Residents of Lower Dixcove, in the Ahanta West Municipality of the Western Region had their sleep cut short on the dawn of Monday, July 22 as men  wielding machetes machetes and clubs besieged Palace of their Chief Nana Kwesi Agyemang.

The tugs after destroying properties abducted  Nana Kwasi Agyemang and four of his subjects who were also subjected to severe beatings and cutlass wounds.

According  to the police, the five were subsequently rescued and are currently receiving medical attention at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital in sekondi.

Meanwhile, the Cheif of Upper Dixcove Obrempong Himan Dekyi who has formally reported to the police, has denied having a hand in the abduction and assault on Nana Kwesi Agyemang.

He said he is not running from the police as is being speculated adding that he is at  his home in Takoradi.

He also challenged anyone who believes otherwise to prove it.

As at now, most residents of both the Upper and Lower Dixcove have varied views about the incident with most suspecting that a long standing land litigation might have been the reason for the disturbance.
