The Regional Minister, Dr Hafiz Bin Salih, who took delivery of the gift and in turn presented it to the health authorities was very thankful to the benefactor.

“Yesterday, the RCC received some from Ussuya Ghana Limited. This is the second time that we have received items from Ussuya Ghana Limited in our efforts to fight COVID-19 in the region. I wish to take this opportunity to once again commend Ussuya Ghana Limited for coming to the aid of the Upper West Region. He has demonstrated that he is a true son of the Upper West Region. The items that have been received are valued at ¢120,000.00.”

The District Development Coordinator of Plan International Ghana, Kamaldeen Iddrisu.

“The first items have been put to good use and it is my expectation that these consignments will also be put to good use. So on behalf of the Chiefs and people of the Upper West Region, and on my own behalf, I thank the company for always coming to our assistance anytime we call on them,” the Regional Minister stated.

Dr Hafiz Bin Salih who handed over the items to the Regional Director of health services, Dr Osei Kuffour Afreh, charged him to ensure that the beneficiary health facilities make good use of their allocations.

Expressing appreciation, Dr. Afreh stated that the rice package from Ussuya Ghana Limited will help to surmount the challenge of feeding clients under quarantine and isolation.

“We have one big challenge as  region in the management of our suspected and also confirmed COVID-19 cases, because once we quarantine them or isolate them for 14 days, it means we have to provide some comfort items for them for the period that they have to be with us. So if you can see right behind me, in addition to the PPE, they have given us some bags of rice and I think that is going to help us make sure we are able to feed our clients under quarantine and isolation.”

In a related development, Plan International Ghana also made a presentation to the Regional Cordinating Council (RCC). The items were sanitisers, liquid soap, veronica buckets and 60 boxes of aquatabs for the treatment of water which can also serve as a sanitiser.

The District Development Coordinator of Plan International Ghana, Kamaldeen Iddrisu who presented the package said his organisation was happy to help fight the coronavirus pandemic.
