V/R: Business community urged to take advantage of trade and investment fair

The Chairman of the Volta, Eastern and Oti branches of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Dela Gadzanku has entreated local businesses to use the upcoming Fifth Volta Trade and Investment Fair in Ho, the Volta Regional capital to showcase the best of their products and artifacts to attract more patrons.

He also urged them to use the occasion to explore and build partnerships that would enable them to increase productivity and expand their businesses.

Mr Gadzanku was speaking at the launch of the Fifth Volta Trade and Investment Fair in Ho.

The fair is aimed at harnessing the economic potentials of the Volta Region as well as to propel its industrialisation drive.

Over 500 exhibitors and eight thousand plus visitors are envisaged to participate at the two-week fair which is slated to open on the 15th to 28th November at the Ho Sports stadium.

Mr Gadzanku said local entrepreneurs stand the chance of benefitting from the fair only if they showcase quality products.

He said his outfit is working with the Ghana Standards Authority to ensure that locally manufactured products are inscribed made in the Volta Region/Ghana products. Mr Gadzanku encouraged both foreign and local investors to invest in businesses in the region saying the region abounds with several opportunities yet to be harnessed.

He urged them to invest more into agribusiness, ICT, and tourism which are the key propellers of big economies in the world.

Mr Gadzanku disclosed that the AGI Volta branch intends to host the 6th Volta Trade and Investment Fair next year in partnership with the Volta Regional Coordinating Council.

The Volta Regional Minister, Dr Archibald Letsa was confident that the private sector will lead the industrialisation drive in the region. END
