Gbledi, a community in the Hohoe Municipality of the Volta Region has officially been recognised as a traditional area by the National and Volta Regional House of Chiefs.

In view of  this, the traditional area has been inducted as a paramountcy into the Akpini Council, an amalgamation of  traditional areas in the Volta Region to which Gbledi belongs.

At the induction ceremony at Kpando, the Chairman of the Council who is also the Fiaga of Wusuta, Togbe Osei Tutu Brempong presented to the chiefs and people the gazette authorised by the National and Volta Regional House of Chiefs to certify its elevation.

He noted that the elevation of the paramountcy came as a result of a committee set up by the Volta Regional House of Chiefs to look into a petition for an autonomous traditional area.

He urged the chiefs and people to let their new status be a catalyst for massive infrastructural development in the area.

The Fiaga of Gbledi, Togbe Humatekpor pledged to work hard with the support of his people to ensure that the elevation reflects in the growth of the area.
