A Corporate Governance Expert and Lecturer at GIMPA, Dr. Kwaku Anane Gyinde has called on lawmakers to treat the alleged scuffle between residents of Teleku- Bokazo and Anhwia in the Ellembelle District of the Western region and the Police with the utmost relevance.

According to him, the incident if not given the needed attention will affect the behaviors of future generations to come

Justifying his case, he said the residents had no right to cause mayhem in the region even with the country facing huge numbers of unemployment in the region.

Speaking with Kafui Dey on the GBC Breakfast Show, Dr. Gyinde urged the Ghana Police Service to arrest the residents found culpable and let the full rigors of the law work on them.

He noted that if violent behaviors are not controlled, people will see violence as a norm in society.

He encouraged leaders in Parliament to portray behaviors deemed appropriate for the young generation to learn.

” As much as we agree that the law should take its course, we should look at how we got here.”

His comments come after one person died and four more people got injured after there was a violent interaction between some residents of Ellembelle District in the Western Region and the Police Service during a Court proceeding.
