The Yendi Municipality is once again facing an acute water shortage. The situation is a threat to bring socio-economic activities, as residents spend hours searching for water.

Some residents have also resorted to the use of unwholesome water from dugouts, exposing themselves to the risk of water-borne diseases.

The Overlord of Dagbon, Yaa-Naa Abukari has now launched an urgent appeal to the government, benevolent individuals and organizations to support the Municipality to end the perennial water shortage.
