President Akufo-Addo has now made the wearing of nose masks mandatory across the country. This follows a spike in the number of Coronavirus positive cases.

Ghana’s case count now stands at 11,964 with 54 deaths and 4,258 recoveries.

In a televised address to the Nation on measures to stem the spread of the coronavirus, President Akufo-Addo said the Police and other law enforcement agencies will enforce this directive through an Executive Instrument which will make it an offence not to wear the nose mask.

With the wearing of nose mask now compulsory, the President again called for self-discipline to curb the spread of the virus.

He called on residents living in Greater Accra, Ashanti, Central and Western Regions which have most of the COVID-19 cases to strictly adhere to preventive protocols.
