A widow, from Winkongo a community in the Talensi District of the Upper East Region and a mother of three, Madam Esther Labil Talata, has been rendered homeless following the collapse of her dilapidated building.
Madam Talata and her three children have currently moved to lodge with her mother in another dilapidated structure. Their current room leaks whenever it rains.
Madam Esther Labil Talata is believed to be in her late 40s. She lost her husband six years ago. Madam Talata and her children, since her husband’s passing have not received any support from either side of her family.
They say, getting enough food for their sustenance remains a struggle.
Madam Talata’s children who are all girls have no access to formal education because there are no finances, even though there is a public basic school close by where they live.
There are visible cracks on the walls of the room Madam Talata, her children and her Mother live in.
The room leaks whenever it rains. Madam Talata through GBC NEWS is pleading for urgent assistance for decent accommodation, as they struggle to meet their basic needs.
The family is also appealing for quality healthcare and food. She also complains of intense pain in her left hip.
But with no funds she cannot visit the hospital for a checkup. Madam Esther Labil Talata, is therefore, appealing to NGOs, and benevolent organizations to come to her aid.
An indigene of Gambibgo in the Bolgatanga East District, Mr. Cletus Adugbire, who told GBC NEWS about Madam Talata’s family predicament said he got to know of their situation about eight months ago when he gave the first daughter of Madam Talata a ride, to buy some medication for her sick mother.
