The Women’s Fellowship of the Immanuel Methodist Society in the Airport East Circuit of the Methodist Church Ghana has extended a hand of support to 3 Communities in the Ga Sub-Urban Circuit of the Northern Accra Diocese.
The Methodist Societies which benefited from charity, involving the presentation of clothes, chairs, assorted food items, beverages, shoes, stationery and soft drinks were Ashifla, Otatein and Kojo Ashong.
Speaking on behalf of the Very Rev. Dr. Jacob French, Superintendent Minister of the Airport East Circuit of the Methodist Church Ghana, Very Rev. Patricia Cobblah, Minister in charge of the Trinity Society of the Airport East Circuit and Coordinator of Children’s Ministry of the Northern Accra Diocese, said ”the gesture was in response to the gospel in sharing what one has with others and caring for the less privileged as in Act 9: 36-43”.
She said the presentation was carried out by the Women’s Fellowship of the Immanuel Methodist Church AT the Regimanuel Gray Estate as part of the Women’s Day celebration, on behalf of the Members of the Immanuel Methodist Society.
Speaking during the presentation, Rev. Fiifi Afenfi-Donkor, Minister at the Immanuel Methodist Society said “true religion, as written in Mathew chapter 5, was love towards one’s neighbor” and expressed the hope that the donation would go a long way in supporting the work of God and evangelism in the Ga Sub-Urban Circuits.
He disclosed that in addition to the donation, the Immanuel Methodist Society had earlier contributed to the on-going construction of a church building at Otatein.
Mrs. Ewuresi French, Wife of the Superintendent Minister of the Airport East Circuit, who played a key role in the mobilization of items for the exercise, maintained that the gesture was also in tune with the objective of the Women’s Fellowship to give priority to the work of God in diverse ways for God’s blessings.
In a remark, President of the Immanuel Methodist Women’s Fellowship, Mrs. Esther Sersah-Johnson said the Fellowship has taken it upon itself to provide aid to the deprived Societies in the Ga Sub-Urban Communities and in particular to the children for which reason most of the items donated were meant for Children and that this was the second time in 6 months that the Women’s Fellowship had carried out such hospitality to the Ga Sub-Urban area.
Receiving the donations, Rev. Enoch Agrada, Minister in charge of the three communities in the Ga Sub-Urban area commended the Immanuel Methodist Women’s Fellowship and the Immanuel Society for the kind gesture and hoped that it would be replicated by other kind hearted groups and organizations like the Women Fellowship.
The Ga Sub-Urban Methodist Societies have been described as being among some of the most deprived in the Northern Accra Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana.
