A World Bank Implementation Support Mission has held a consultative meeting with the Management team of GRIDCo for the Ghana Energy Sector Transformation Initiative Project (GESTIP, P163984).
The objectives of the meeting included:
• Discussion on project progress since restructuring in June 2022
• Review of any procurement challenges that have arisen
• Ensuring strict compliance with safeguards recommendations raised in restructuring paper and finalising a plan for citizens engagement.
• Review the disbursement rate and projections for the remaining project life.
In a welcome address, the Chief Executive, Ing. Ebenezer Kofi Essienyi, commended the World Bank for their immense support for Ghana and took the opportunity to solicit more support for Ghana and GRIDCo.
Present at the meeting were some GRIDCo Management Staff and an eight-man delegation from the World Bank, led by Dhruva Sahai (Programme Leader for Infrastructure and Senior Energy Specialist).
