Public Relations Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Awal Mohammed, says the agency still stands by its mandate of giving contracts to beneficiaries and not outright employment.
He said discussions on permanent employment can only happen after the expiration of the statutory two-year contract.
Under an MOU signed between the Ghana Education Service (GES) and YEA, all 7,730 beneficiaries will be deployed to selected Senior High Schools to replace aging non-teaching staff.
This has become necessary due to the double-track system.
