Three months ago, GBC’s Eastern Regional Correspondent Michael Kofi Kenetey reported on the ordeal of an 11-year-old girl named Anita Toabea, who got one of her legs amputated seven months ago through a vehicle accident.

Fortunately, through the efforts of the Dope MC Foundation, the young girl has gotten a prosthetic leg to replace her lost one.

The 11-year-old Anita Toabea, who is a student at the SDA Primary School at New Tafo in the Abuakwa North Municipality of the Eastern Region, got one of her legs amputated due to a vehicle which run over her at the side of the road seven months ago.

In an interview with a member of the Dope MC Foundation and a lecturer at the University of Ghana Distance School in Koforidua, Prince Asante, during the foundation’s visit to the young girl to donate some items and a cash amount during the Christmas festive period, described the situation of Anita as unfortunate and disheartening and appealed to well-wishers to help Anita realize her dreams in terms of education.

During my visit, the uncle and caretaker of Anita Toabea, David Oduro, was full of praise to Dope Foundation for coming to their aid and appealed to Ghanaians, philanthropists, and benevolent organisations to come to the aid of Anita.

Young Anita Toabea also made the same appeal to well-wishers to come to her aid and help her pursue her education to enable her to actualize her dreams. After three months of the report, through the efforts of a broadcast journalist from Citi FM/TV and the CEO of the Dope MC Foundation, Neil Nii Amartey Kanarku and his foundation has contributed to the fixing of Anita Toabea’s prosthetic leg.

In an interview with Mr. Nii Kanarku, he showed appreciation to all well-wishers who contributed to the course and called on well-meaning Ghanaians to support the less-privileged in society to enable them to feel part of the society and make the earth a better place for them.
