The Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi has taken delivery of 100 boxes of face masks, 400 boxes of examination gloves, 30 gallons of 5L sanitizers, 200 bottles of 200ml sanitisers, six infrared thermometers and 50 gallons of disinfectants.
The items worth ¢50.000.00 is a presentation from Zen Petroleum, a solely owned Ghanaian Oil Marketing Company aimed at complimenting the needs of the facility in a bid to contain the spread of Covid-19.
Making the presentation, Logistics and Supply Chain Manager at ZEN, Roger Amoah Larbi, said his outfit deems it a social responsibility to support such a gesture as the country collectively fights against the spread of the virus.
He added that ZEN was committed to the continued fight against the Novel Coronavirus hence the support to operational community health facilities. He said a similar gesture was extended to the Tarkwa Municipal Hospital also in the Western Region.
Mr. Larbi-Amoah said, “We at ZEN will continue to do our bit to ensure our friends, families and customers are as safe as possible.”
He also commended the healthcare workers at the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital for their dedication to the well-being of their clients especially in the wake of the Covid-19.
Although the facility has received a lot of presentations to assist them in their work as frontline workers, the Administrator of the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital, Micheal Danso, noted that this particular presentation will meet set needs explaining that management of ZEN Petroleum asked for what was needed before they were supplied.
“You came here sometime back to ask for our specific needs and today, you have proven that you are a caring company by providing even beyond our expectations,” Mr. Danso added.
He expressed gratitude to Zen Petroleum and all other organisations, corporate bodies and individuals who continue to support their activities especially during the wake of Covid-19.
The Western Region has 449 confirmed cases of Covid-19, 10 recovered, 1 death and over 4000 pending results.
