Zonda Tech Ghana Limited has launched Phase III of its assembly plant, reinforcing the company’s commitment to supporting education, vocational skills development, women’s empowerment, and driver professionalism in Ghana.
The initiative forms part of the company’s broader commitment to Ghana’s socio-economic development, with a strategic focus on positioning the country as a major automotive hub in West Africa.

Speaking at the launch, the Chief Executive Officer of Zonda Tech Ghana Limited, Yang Yang said, Ghana’s strategic location, entrepreneurial population, growing market and the presence of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat give the country significant potential to lead the automotive industry in the region.
“Our ambition is therefore not limited to selling vehicles in Ghana. We want to build an automotive industry from Ghana, for Ghana and for Africa,” she said.

The foundation will provide learning opportunities for young people and practical training in automotive technology. Selected students from universities will also be given opportunities to train at Zonda’s factories in China to strengthen their technical skills.
The company said it will also focus on empowering women and supporting vulnerable groups, while promoting driver professionalism and contributing to efforts to reduce road accidents.
Zonda Tech Ghana Limited further announced plans to expand production, create more local jobs, strengthen technical capacity, support local suppliers and deepen partnerships with universities and other institutions.
The company appealed to the government to review policies and consider restoring incentives for automobile assembly to encourage further investment in Ghana’s automotive sector.
“With the right policy support, Ghana can become a genuine automotive hub for West Africa and a manufacturing base serving the wider African market,” it said.

Zonda Tech also called on members of the Home Used Vehicle Association to collaborate with the company as distributors, with plans to engage banks to support them with financing.
The company said its ultimate goal is to develop local talent and ensure that the factory contributes not only to vehicle production but also to sustainable careers for Ghanaian engineers and technicians.
