The Daily Graphic lauds the Ghana Education Service (GES) for taking a bold step to reduce the number of subjects at the Kindergarten level which it believes will enhance learning and enable school children at that stage to easily assimilate what they are taught. It commends the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment for involving stakeholders in the decision making process. It says this will ensure incorporation of their contribution to make the soon to be implemented curriculum the best for the school children. It however, asks that there should be adequate training for teachers across the country who will have the duty of interpreting the new curriculum to the school children. The Graphic prays that when the new curriculum is rolled out, there will be no hiccups in the supply of the syllabus, reference materials, text books as well as the monitoring and evaluation of the syllabus.
The Ghanaian Times advises the public to adhere to the ban on drumming and noise-making in Accra to ensure peace during the period. The paper asks the taskforce that has been constituted to work in collaboration with the Accra Metropolitan Assembly to enforce the ban during the period. The Times therefore urges churches and the public to cooperate with the traditional authorities to ensure peaceful co-existence.
