The Daily Graphic says the exploitative activities of some individuals and self-professed pastors popularly termed “one man churches” make it imperative to regulate all faith based organisations. The paper finds it worrying that some of these organisations are abusing the current relaxed state of regulations for religious activities by engaging in unacceptable practices in the name of Christianity. The Graphic therefore welcomes the decision by government to set up a Charity Commission to audit the humanitarian activities of churches and calls for their inclusion in the establishment of the Commission for transparency.
