Niger and Somalia are set to use Accra Sports Stadium as a temporary home venue for their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers during the upcoming international window. The arrangement follows CAF’s clearance of the renovated stadium to host international matches.
Niger have already received approval and will host Lesotho in Accra on September 25 before travelling to face Gabon four days later. Somalia have also requested permission to stage their home fixture against Côte d’Ivoire at the same venue on September 29.
The development makes Accra Sports Stadium a key regional venue, particularly because both Niger and Somalia currently lack a CAF-approved stadium at home. Ghana are also due to host Gambia in Accra during the same qualifying window.
