Member of Parliament for Ketu South Constituency, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has donated GHS12,500 to the Ketu South Municipal Football Association following the district’s win in the just-ended Inter-District U-17 Championship in Ho.
Out of the total amount, GHS10,000 will support football development programmes in the municipality, while GHS2,500 is a reward for winning the championship.
Ketu South Municipal emerged champions after defeating Nkwanta South District 1-0 in the final to lift the trophy for the first time.
Speaking on her behalf, Mr. David Doe, aide to the MP, congratulated the players, technical team and management for bringing honour to Ketu South.
“This donation is to support the Ketu South Municipal FA to continue developing young talent in Ketu South. The boys have made us proud,” she said.
Chairman of the Ketu South Municipal Football Association, Mr. Barson Foli, thanked the MP for the support.
He said the funds would be used to strengthen administrative work, logistics and the welfare of teams in the district.
The 4-day Inter-District U-17 Championship which ran from the 20th to the 23rd of August 2026 at the Youth Resources Center was organized by the Volta Regional Football Association to unearth and develop young players across the region, and to form the Regional U-17 team.
Nine districts participated in this year’s edition.
