3,479 candidates who took part in this year’s West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), who were allegedly involved in examination irregularities, have started appearing before the West African Examination Council (WAEC) to defend themselves.
They are part of 26,434 candidates whose results were withheld by WAEC when the council released the results of the examination in July, this year.
The students, from nineteen Senior High Schools, were summoned by the Council as part of processes to complete investigations into the allegations.
Their index numbers and schools were published in the dailies a fortnight ago to visit designated WAEC offices nationwide on specified days starting from Monday, November 26, accompanied by the headmasters.
