The District Court in Ada Presided over by Paulina A. Kwakyewa has remanded into custody Gabriel Adzigodi, Operator of the boat involved in the disaster at Ada over the weekend.
The suspect’s plea was not taken in Court. No charges were also read and no facts were presented in Court.
Prosecutor Detective Inspector Alex Annan told the Court that investigations were ongoing and in view of the nature of the case, coupled with the fact that there were death’s involved and the deceased families were still agitated as per intelligence gathered by the Police, he prayed the Court to remand the accused person into Police custody to allow for further investigations and also for the safety of the accused person.
The Magistrate, Her worship Paulina Kwakyewa after hearing the prosecution, remanded the suspect and adjourned proceedings to April 5, 2023.
