AgriAccess Ghana Limited supports COVID-19 fight in Upper West Region

An NGO, AgriAccess Ghana Limited has donated some items to the Upper West Regional Directorate of Health to help in the fight against Corona virus (COVID-19). The package included soap, sanitisers, N95 masks, packs of tissue and water.

The Managing Director AGRIACCESS Ghana LTD, Anthony Poore presented the gift to the health authorities on behalf of the NGO.

Mr Poore indicated: “We have to all come together to fight this disease. That is why we are here today with these items. We brought liquid soap, about 55 gallons that’s 5 litres, we brought hand sanitisers, the 5 litres are ten and then 250 millilitres, 40 of them. Then we have the N95 [mask], 40 pieces, we actually wanted more but this was what we could get.”

The items on display.

“We brought some tissues, ten packs and T-rolls, ten packs and then water just to resource our frontliners to be able to fight this battle for all of us.”

“It’s [COVID-19] a threat to everybody, even to our farmers and we are praying that once we have come together like this, we should be able to fight and win the battle,” the MD of AgriAccess stated.

The Chief Nursing Officer for Upper West Region, Pognaa Cecilia Tuo who received the items from Agriaccess Ghana Limited expressed appreciation to the donors.

She said: “Once again, we want to say a big thank you to you all for thinking and having in mind the health worker. Yes, it is true that if the health worker is not healthy, is not strong, things may go wayward. We are so grateful that we wish to use the logistics being presented judiciously for its purpose.”

“We want to thank you once again, may you continue to help us in times of need,” Pognaa Tuo reiterated.

In a related development, Kaapuori Children’s Resource Foundation (KCRF) also donated 200 face masks to the Regional Health Directorate (RHD). The Chairman of KCRF, Dr Solomon Dansieh, made the presentation on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Foundation, Madam Muniratu Mahama.

Dr. Dansieh announced that KCRF will bring 300 additional face masks. Madam Asana Ishmail of Assana Fashions who produced the face masks was part of the delegation to present the items.

The Regional Director of Health, Dr Osei Kuffour Afreh also thanked all those that have come to the aid of Ghana Health Service with some logistics.

He pointed out, “the challenge during this pandemic is that even if you have the money, where to even get the commodity to buy is a big problem and even if you can get it, the price is so astronomical that your few quantities of Cedis cannot be able to buy them.”
