All set for Bono-Ahafo Regional NDC congress

All is set for the Bono-Ahafo Regional Congress of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to elect new executives for the party for Election 2020.
The party has already elected new executives for the various 29 constituencies in the region.
According to the Ghana News Agency, (GNA), the Jubilee Park in Sunyani, venue for the event, delegates were arriving.
The various candidates contesting for the regional executive positions had spread- pasted their campaign posters at the venue.
The congress has also created a field day for some party activists – young men and women – engaging in the sale of NDC paraphernalia and party flyers.
In an interview with the GNA, the Chairman of the Regional Election Committee, Kwame Anning Frimpong, said about 925 delegates were expected to attend the congress.
They are made up of nine Members of Parliament (MPs’) in the region, various former government appointees, and five representatives from the Tertiary Education and Institutional Network (TEIN) of the NDC.
A former envoy, Kwadwo Nyamekye-Marfo, solely contesting for the regional chairman while Dennis Twumasi, incumbent Regional Secretary is going unopposed.
Alhaji Wudu Baba Gausu, is also the sole candidate contesting for the regional Zongo caucus coordinator.
Apart from those positions,  about 43 candidates are contesting for the various Regional positions in the elections, being conducted and supervised by the Electoral Commission (EC).
