A member of Ashanti Gold S.C. Communication team, Nuhu Adams, says he believes the Miners will progress to the next stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

In an interview on GBC’s Uniiq FM, he was hopeful that despite only securing a 3-2 home victory over Moroccan side RS Berkane in the first leg fixture on Saturday, the Ghana Premier League side will seal through.

“It is not going to be easy but we believe we have to play our hearts out and make sure we seal through,” he said.

According to Nuhu, the team is back to training but Emmanuel Agyekum and Richard Osei Agyeman are not fully fit.

He then assured the fans that Ashanti Gold will defeat RSB Berkane in two weeks time when the second leg is played.

“We have to protect the advantage and make sure we frustrate RSC Berkane and then qualify for the Group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup,” Adams said.

Rwandan referee Abdul Karim Twagirumukiza  has been appointed by CAF to officiate the return leg with other Rwandans, Dieudonne Mutuyimana, Honore Simba and Louis Hakizimana who will serve as the assistant referees and fourth officials respectively.

The game is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 28th September 2019 at Stade Municipal de Berkane, Morocco.

RS Berkane were the losing finalist of the last edition of the CAF Confederations Cup. They lost to Egyptian giants Zamalek 5-3 on penalties.
