Black Stars and Nac Breda midfielder, Andre Ayew has emphatically quashed swirling rumors of an imminent retirement, declaring his body feels strong and his passion for the game burns brighter than ever.

The 36-year-old, fresh off signing with Dutch Eredivisie club NAC Breda, made the bold statement in a candid ESPN interview, insisting he’s far from done at the elite level.

Ayew, whose career spans France’s Ligue 1, England’s Premier League, and Turkey’s Süper Lig, dismissed any notion of hanging up his boots.

“I never thought about it because my body is good. I feel good,” he said, emphasizing his fitness after years of relentless play. “I’ve played a lot, a lot of years, and I’ve been fit for several years and been able to play games upon games upon games.”

Living day-to-day, Ayew trusts his physical condition to guide his future. “I prepare myself every time to have a better tomorrow on the field, off the field,” he added.

“When the moment comes, your body will tell you. That’s how I see it, and for now, my body is not responding negatively at all. So I need to continue working. The matches will get me fitter.”

Addressing a six-month hiatus from competitive action, Ayew clarified it stemmed from personal matters, not a dip in form or opportunities.

“I never thought about stopping because the six months I didn’t play was not football reasons. It was personal reasons that I had to deal with,” he explained.

“I could clear my mind and come back and be on top of my game mentally, physically, I was working. So I’m quite happy, and this is the start of something new”; he affirmed.
