Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has named his squad for the upcoming Pink Ladies Cup in the United Arab Emirates, injecting fresh energy with six new players earning their first senior national team call-ups based on stellar club form.
The squad, announced on Friday, February 20, spotlights emerging stars: Turkey-based goalkeeper Rose Baah of Giresun Sanayispor, Ampem Darkoa Ladies duo Diana Amoako and Ajegipina Zakaria, plus Alexander Emefa Tay, Sharon Sampson, and Helen Alormenu.
Baah has been a cornerstone for her Turkish side this season, while Amoako, fresh from Black Princesses World Cup qualifiers against South Africa, anchors Ampem Darkoa’s defense.

Zakaria tops the Ghana Women’s Premier League scoring charts after 13 games, Tay returns injury-free after training with the Queens in England, and Sampson with Alormenu add firepower up top.
Ghana faces a tough Group stage draw against Hong Kong, Russia, and Tanzania when the Pink Ladies Cup kicks off on February 28, promising high-stakes action in the UAE.
Beyond the silverware, the four-nation showdown doubles as crucial prep for the Black Queens’ assault on the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco next month, sharpening their edge for continental glory.
