Ghana’s Black Princesses have crashed out of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after a 4–0 defeat to France in their final Group C match. The result left Ghana bottom of the group with three points, while France advanced as group winners.
Ghana needed at least a draw to keep their qualification hopes alive, but France produced a dominant second-half performance. After a goalless opening period, the French side scored four unanswered goals, including one from the penalty spot, to settle the contest.
Another early exit
The Black Princesses finished the tournament with one victory and two defeats:
- Ghana 0–3 Ecuador.
- Ghana 3–1 South Korea.
- Ghana 0–4 France.
The defeat means Ghana have again failed to reach the knockout stage, despite making their eighth consecutive appearance at the U-20 Women’s World Cup.
France finished first in Group C with seven points, while Ghana ended fourth with three points and a goal difference of minus five.
