Bush meat business faces meltdown due to urbanization

The bush meat business is facing a meltdown due to urbanization, high cost of the product and harsh economic factors.

Other reasons include hunters abandoning the trade for lucrative jobs, including illegal mining. This came out in a research conducted by the Centre for Biodiversity Conservation Research at the University of Ghana at a West African Regional workshop in Accra.

It seeks to support action oriented, gender–transformative research, on how women’s health and work are affected by COVID-19.
