The ARB Apex Bank has posted one of its strongest financial performances in recent years, with total assets of GH¢5.40 billion in 2025.

The bank also recorded a profit before tax of 34 point 56 million cedis, up from 25 point 44 million cedis in 2024.

These gains were announced at the bannk’s 24th Annual General Meeting in Kumasi.

According to the bank’s Board Chairman, Mr Daniel Ohene Kwaku Owusu, the strong performance resulted from increased customer deposits, improved liquidity management and stronger investment commitments, which strengthened the bank’s financial position.

With strong growth in deposits, the bank expanded its loans and advances from GH¢121.97 million in 2024 to GH¢180.34 million in 2025, representing a 47.9 per cent increase. Profit after tax increased by 135.94 per cent, from GH¢19.91 million in 2024 to GH¢46.97 million in 2025.

The increase was driven by improved revenue streams, disciplined cost controls, enhanced operational efficiency and deferred tax assets.

Acting Managing Director of APEX Bank Curtis William Brantuo said the rise in fortunes of the bank is an indication that discipline foresight and strategic direction have guided the bank to its current state.

Mr Brantuo explained the reasons for the non declaration of dividends saying the bank is still recovering from the effects of the domestic debt exchange program DDEP and is working hard to address all the shortfalls from that program in order to move forward.

Regarding special initiatives, the Acting Managing Director said the bank upgraded its data centre with new internet routers, enterprise-grade network switches and next-generation firewalls.

This shaped both performance and security. The bank also deployed NetApp storage to provide scalable cost effective platform for growth.

Chairmen of the various rural and community banks present at the meeting moved and seconded a motion to increase the end-of-year remuneration for board members from GH¢5,000 to GH¢10,000. They also approved the continued engagement of Ernst & Young as the bank’s independent auditors.
