Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has challenged former President John Dramani Mahama to tell the Ghanaian youth what he did for them in the eight years he was in government as Vice President and President.

Addressing the NPP Youth Wing in Accra, as part of activities marking International Youth Day, Dr. Bawumia said the mantra of the Youth being future Leaders will be a mirage if effective measures are not put in place to empower them to be prepared adequately for the future.

“It is for this reason that Government has consistently played its part to equip the youth with the needed skills for development.”

The Vice President noted that President Akufo-Addo has demonstrated his understanding of the issues the Ghanaian youth face, and has made moves to address them in three and half years.

He said since 2017, government has created more than two million jobs in the public and private sectors, inclusive of Government’s job-creation programmes and Initiatives such as Planting for Food and Jobs, NABCO Graduate Programme and National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan, NEIP.

Dr. Bawumia announced government’s intention of converting the National ID Card Number into TIN Numbers to rake in more revenue.
