Bono Regional Minister charges youth to take advantage of the Business and Employment Assistance Programme

The Bono Regional Minister, Justina Owusu Banahene has urged the youth in Ghana to take advantage of the opportunities created by the Youth Employment Agency to alleviate the state of unemployment.

The Youth Employment Agency, on Monday December 11, 2023 launched the Business and Employment Assistance Programme (BEAP) to revive Small and Medium Scale Businesses in the country and also give employment access to the youth.

In an opening remark, The Regional Minster mentioned that, the programme after its implementation will rescue businesses, empower the youth and create employment for the youth as well. She urged the youth to take full advantage of the programme so they can be empowered to become entrepreneurs and also contribute in eliminating the rate of unemployment in Ghana.

“The Youth Employment Agency (YEA), in collaboration with the government, has designed a model named ‘Business and Employment Assistance Programme (BEAP), which is aimed at rescuing businesses, empowering youth, and creating employment. In this regard, the program revives micro, small, and medium-scale enterprises (MSMEs) to recover from the economic challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.” Justina Owusu Banahene explained

She added that the Micro, Small, and Medium Scale Enterprises (MSMEs) will be given both technical and financial assistance to grow by providing skilled workers, having more youth, and enhancing business sustainability in these difficult and challenging times. She also maintained that the programme will provide direct interventions to ease the cost of operations for these MSMEs to stay in business and contribute significantly to the economic growth and development of the country..

Madam Justina Owusu Banahene therefore appealed to business owners across the Bono Region to take advantage of this transformative program to expand and embrace it wholeheartedly for the rapid local economic development of the Bono Region and beyond.
