Ghana is in talks with Amazon, an online shopping agency, to aid the country’s drive in raking in more foreign Direct Investments, FDIs.

As of last year, Ghana had received about $2.7 billion in investments.

Speaking at the launch of the ‘2021 Spark up Investment Summit in Accra, Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, stressed the importance of creating access for facilitating agencies to liaise effectively with investors, not only to enhance their operations but to encourage others to come on board.

He said the FDIs if well managed, will continue to create more jobs as some 27,000 direct employment opportunities have already been made available.

Mr. Oppong Nkrumah said government will not relent in its efforts to ensure that FDIs operate in a business friendly environment.

Chief Executive of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Yoofi Grant, reiterated the Centre’s resolve to repositioning Ghana as a leader in reviving the continent towards a higher economic pedestal.

He said the 2021 Spark up Investment Summit will create a platform for both domestic and foreign investors to come on board.
