Ghana and Nigeria have resolved to work towards establishing a Business Council to ensure cordial trade and diplomatic relations.

This is the outcome of two-day talks between the Speakers of Ghana’s Parliament and the Nigeria House of Representatives in Accra.

In a Communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, Accra and Abuja said in furtherance of Parliamentary Diplomacy, they would earnestly explore possibility of the passage of reciprocal legislation leading to the establishment of a Ghana Nigeria friendship ACT.

A review of the GIPC Act 2013, Act eight, six five (865) would also be looked at.

Throwing more light on the Communiqué, the Clerk of Ghana’s Parliament, Cyril Oteng Nsiah said both Speakers reiterated the need to further deepen the cordial relations between them.

He said they agreed that the Trade ministers must as a matter of urgency work together to ensure traders operate within the confines of the law.
