Panelists on GBC’s Current Affairs Programme, “Talking Point”, say Ghana has seen a significant improvement in financial inclusion especially in digital space.
They cited increase in mobile money and banking transactions through remittances.
The Regional Head of MoneyGram Anglophone West Africa, Patrick Appiah said the upsurge in remittances is because channels used to transact business have opened up and the economic environment makes it easier.
Digital Financial Expert, UN Capital Development Fund, Herman Familayo Messan said though Ghana is doing well, but a lot more could be done especially in giving credit facilities to farmers.
A Senior Products Manager of Zeepay, Dede Afriyie Quarshie, said remittances will continue to be high so far as migration exists.
