Ghana’s debt to GDP currently stands at 78 per cent. According to the Dean of the University of Cape Coast Business School, Professor John Gati, the debt is very high and got to unsustainable level in 2019.
Professor Gati who was commenting on the country’s debt sustainability, its implications on revenue and the economy in general, noted that the repayment cost increases constantly.
Professor Gati said due to financial distress most policies and programmes by institutions are not funded and are in arrears.
