Government releases 2.5b to settle contractors

The Ministry of Finance has released two point two billion Ghana cedis to settle debt owed to road contractors across the country. This will ensure abandoned road projects are completed.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who announced this in Accra, during the sod cutting ceremony for construction of a three tier Obetsebi Lamptey inter change, directed the Ministry of Roads and Highways to monitor the performance of contractors engaged by government and not to hesitate to terminate the contract of non performing contractors.

He assured those whose property will be affected by the construction of adequate compensation.
